I have a house built in 1968 in Canberra and have been told that at that time none of the internal walls were built to be load bearing.

Has anyone else heard this?

I was hoping to remove the wall between the lounge and the kitchen/dining. At the moment it is about 5/8 of the way across (it has a large walk through at the end between the two rooms.

Thanks
