    Post decking question

Just about to lay decking boards, what is the best way to end to end join boards ? I was thinking of cutting ends to 45 degrees so thay overlap,or should I just butt them together ? the decking is covered in. Timber is tas oak 140mm x 20. Any advice will be kindly appreciated thank you

Normally you would just butt them.

I had my saw set at a slight angle, say 3 degrees but not 45 degrees.
It gives a slightly better join but your the only one that will notice the difference.
