Protool Duradrive
i just bought the protool duradrive yesterday. it is used solely for screwing 25mm-55mm screws for gyprock/drywall.
i would like to know if anybody has it and can i use generic brand ph2 long bits or will i have to buy the protool brand ph2 bits.
the protool ph2 long bits are a wee bit pricey at $30 for 3.
in the past i have always made do with a cordless drill or driver for screwing gyprock.
so i thought it was about time to splash out on a dedicated gyprock screwgun.
once i have put it through its paces, i will take a few photos of it in action and write a small review too.
a workmate will be buying the hilti sd 5000 drywall screw gun next week, so i look forward to comparing them side by side.
any tips will be appreciated.

Like Festool, I think they use the Euro standard 6mm hex not the 6.35 hex that the rest of the world uses. Bit of a shame that if that is the case. Sort of locks you into a supplier of consumables.

Hi Justin,
I think you will find the Protool Duradrive uses a pretty standard bit. I think the Makita bit fits it no problem and visa-versa.

thanks for the advice guys.
i have not had a chance to use the gun yet.
i have some other jobs to clear up first.
when i get a chance i will use the protool bit that came with the tool.
then i will try the makita bits.
i will report back which is better.
