Default Help for yellowed pine please, rookie alert!

Hi there, my name is Jen and I live in England and am definitely an amateur when it comes to wood although I love everything about it. I'd like some advice please. My mum has lots of solid pine furniture, most is really well made and we'd like to keep it but the problem is it has gone that horrible lurid yellow with age/light whatever does it. She is about to have solid oak flooring laid and I'd like to know how we can tone down the yellow and make it match or at least complement the new flooring. Any help much appreciated, thanks, Jen

What kind of finish is on the pine? Does it have a smooth plasticy feel to it or does it feel like raw wood?

Thats good actually because it can be stripped off(chemicaly or heat) then sanded to gain back the original raw colour. Then apply a clear non~yellowing finish like a water based or a dewaxed shellac.
