Thread detective. Thread identification tools.

Restoring and tool modification is an enjoyable hobby of mine.
Just for fun I tried them on my Woodriver No 3 bench plane. Also my Record 077 bullnose plane.
The habit of removing screws before throwing something in the trash can resulted in a large number of unknown fastener sizes.
I went to hardware store looking at specialty fasteners and machines screws.
I noticed the thread detective product and purchased both the large SAE and Metric sizes.
Very happy and pleased with the ease of use.
It makes identifying the Mini or smaller machine screws easier. My vision isn't that great even with bi-focal glasses.
I drove to a different store to purchase the Mini SAE and METRIC sizes at a different store.
The only minor inconvenience is them being on the small cable.
The cable will keep me from losing them. The cable also works with my belt carabiner clip for keys.
They weren't inexpensive or too expensive.
Here in the United States 🇺🇸 each individual set costs approximately $21.99 USD depending the retail store.
My 4 piece kit cost me $95.00 USD with tax.

Although not applicable for woodhog, I noticed Bunnings have a similar thing mounted on the shelves where the nuts and bolts are. I was in there on Saturday looking for Nyloc nuts for some small machine screws I found in my random bits box. I wasn't 100% certain what the size was and the nuts are in a blister pack so no way to check without opening a pack. I spied the thread checkers, confirmed the size and bought only the correct size nuts. I've never noticed the thread checkers before but I presume they have been there all along.

I have imperial & Metric thread gauges with Tap & Die sets not as easy to use without my specs ,these thread testers are perhaps a better option as ones sight needs more assistance.

What is the name of the place you bought the from?
Here in the USA Menards, Woodcraft & Amazon sell them.
I'll eventually get a Mitutoyo 950-253, Screw Pitch Gage, 4 - 84 TPI, 51 Leaves as well.
