    Default G'day from Philadelphia

    G'day:

It's been a pleasure reading the forum postings from the sidelines for a while, but I thought I would introduce myself. I am a hobby woodworker (my grandfather and father were both very good amateur carpenters in their days), and I have a well organized shop in my basement.

I dabble in just about everything from steel/wood work (built-in couches, ottomans, etc.), laminated (Formica) plywood forms (desks, kitchen table, shelving), turning for walking canes and table legs, as well as many, many cutting boards. I like to work with walnut, maple, mahogany, padouck and even lacewood. I have also made several children's rocking horses which I would like to do again.

By the way, I spent a great deal of time in Oz during 1988 and 1989. I shipped my BMW R75/5 motorcycle to Sydney for the Bicentenary celebration, and then spend a year and a half wandering around down-under. I loved Australia, I made a lot of friends while I was there, and I dream of going back one day.

    G'day Quesne,

With all the things you list as work you are involved in, how do you find time to scratch yourself? Any way glad you found time to drop us a line and we look forward to hearing more from you.

    Jerry
