    Default Slitting rolls

Does anyone know of someone in Sydney who can slit and/or stamp rolls of abrasive paper?

    Thanks, FF

I'm not in Sydney and I can't slit or stamp rolls of abrasive...

but if what you want is to cut 2" or 3" discs for inertia or power sanding systems from standard rolls, you might use an old (or buy) a bimetal hole saw of the needed size, grind the teeth off and then grind a sharp cutting edge and use it in a drill.

    Just a thought

Thanks Dragonfly. It will be for a few different shapes/sizes - I thought perhaps a jig saw mounted in a table with a TC knife blade (special order I guess), and then for circles put a stack of abrasives sheets sandwiched between two MDF discs, centred on a nail and spin it around.

    Default The Discs.

    Hi FF,
If you go to a Exhaust Pipe ( Car ) place, they throw out quite a bit of 2 & 3 in pipe.
4in. long is plenty, turn some wood to go inside & double pin it.
Of course, you 1st. put it in a chuck, low speed & sharpen the inside, with a round file.
    Works for me.

    Default 5 or 6in.

    Hi FF,
Yes, why not. Might need a good surface for the wood base to cut a Disc that size.
    Nothing is impossible.

    FF,
You can contact a company called PREMIUM ABRASIVES , they should be able to assist.

If not then there is also ABRASIFLEX or KLINGSPORE Abrasives, both companies import and convert abrasives to rolls , discs & sheets.

If you have any questions send me a PM .
