Replacing Rusted Steel Posts
My house, a large trilevel, is elevated 8' for "garage space".
The lower floor sits on 3x steel C Beams (200x75) to provide a potential garage area underneath.
These beams are supported by 75x75 steel posts, each with small concrete footings - about 3mts apart (8 posts in total). The floor is clay, the intention was to concrete.
Being now over 20 years old, all the steel posts have various amounts of rust (one needing immediate replacement, now with a rust hole in one side).
Is this a job I could safely do or should I call in a builder. I did contact one but he hasn't turned up yet.
