Hi

I'm looking to build a pergola in my backyard however I have a slight problem with the height of the roof.

The house is a double storey however it's brick veneer only up to 2.7m and the rest is foam cladding to the top storey.

I'd like the pergola to be a flat roof with a ledger bolted to the brick face on the house however i'm worried if I do this the the height of the ceiling of the pergola would be too low.

Is there anyway of overcoming this problem as obviously we can't bolt the ledger to the foam board?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
