Hi, Looking for some advice on whether attaching new floor joists to the old ones is the best way to level my floor. The floor has lots of bumbs and dives, most small but still noticable. We are thinking of purchasing some new hardwood floor boards at a great price. They are not floating so i will have to remove the old ones, level the floor then relay the new ones. I ripped up the laundry floor and to be blunt was shocked just how bent and bowed they were. In that case it was easier to lay new joist paralell to the existing, liquid nails and lots of nails i was done.

Can anyone tell me if this would be effective on a large area and if there will be any long term effects. The new joists would be costly to be honest and am open to ideas. Planing down the old etc could be done but i fear would take weeks of torment.

Thanks in advance for your advice, robbie
