Bathroom advice
Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone can give me advice in terms of a new bathroom. At the moment I have a blank canvas. I have a bathroom measuring 2750mm x 3000mm... The door is located on the 2750mm wall towards the side, but can be positioned anywhere at the moment... that is, in the centre as well if need be.
Is it possible to fit a bathtub, double vanity, toilet and a shower (has to be big)... I can't seem to find a solution into designing this and fitting all of the above... I was thinking of going even bigger...
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi there mr5point7,
Before anyone can help you design your new bathroom you need to get together a few things like;
- a realistic budget
- style of bathroom i.e modern, contemporary, federation...
- what type of bath, shower, vanity, mirror, toilet, tapware tiles etc (low end or high end - refer to budget)
- layout of existing plumbing (are you going to move them - refer to budget)
then it will make it easier to help you.

Hi there!
This is the best part about planning a renovation/new bathroom! Here are two websites to help you fit everything in:

one small piece of advice....if you only have one bathroom, build the tiolet into a seperate room.
My recent bathroom reno 3.6x2.4 room had full size bath, 1000x1000 shower, big vanity, seperate 3 draw unit, tiolet in seprate room and linen press.
build the access door into the shorter wall corner as this allows less wasted floor space.

I would like a modern bathroom....
The plumbing - nothing there at the moment... It's wherever the items will be positioned.
Budget, really doesn't matter at this stage. The issue is the layout of the bathroom.
I can't seem to fit everything in there.
- 1000x1000mm shower
- double vanity (1500mm wide)
- standard bath tub
- toilet....
Looks like I will build a small alcove for the toilet in the next door room... (laundry room). So the bathroom will essentially be a rectangle with another small rectangle (toilet) tacted on

Hi there,
I'm doing a similar job myself. I don't think that you would get the toilet in very easily.
Bourne bathrooms in Fawkner carry a range of bath tubs from 1570mm long so you could fit that and the shower against the 2750 wall.
What are you using to line the walls/floors and waterproof them?

My bathroom is smaller than yours and contains almost all the facilities that you want.
The bathroom is on a corner of the house and the actual bathroom size is 2.1m x 3.1m, with the door on the edge of a shorter wall, and windows on both the external walls. The bath is across the short wall opposite the door. The 1000x1000mm shower with "bevelled corner" door is in the corner near the door. The toilet is on the internal wall between the shower and the bath. The single vanity is suspended on the external wall between the bath and where the door swings. (There would be room for a small double vanity.) Mirror cupboards are set between the wall studs above the vanity.
It works well, is surprisingly spacious, and we also have a second toilet in its own room.
Cheers
Graeme
