Do you have to use a plumber?
Hi all,
We have a situation where we need to redirect our sewer line.
Nothing major.
We have had a plumber out and he has given us direction on where to run the new pipe and we have dug the trench ready.
Problem is that this guy is really busy, the old line got cuit today, so if he doesn't turn up we are without sewer till Monday or Tuesday.
That got me thinking - it's a run of about 5 metres with 3 45deg bends and both ends will join back onto clay pipes.
Can you legally do this work yourself? or does it HAVE to be done by a licensed plumber?
Cheers
Geoff

Legally a plumber must do it, but there is nothing to stop you doing a "tempory" emergancy repair until the plumber gives it his blessing.

Al,
just to save you another thirty years in the building game I'll give you everything you need to know to be a plumber: hot on the left, cold on the right s**t flows down hill and payday is on Friday. (I've annoyed a few plumbers with that one )
