Cleaning spraygun
I have an old spraygun that was probably put away dirty by a previous owner.
I can't screw the pot off so I think I need to soak it something to loosen things up.
Any suggestions what to use.

Bob,
if you're lucky it was nitrocellulose lacquer that was left in the pot. Soaking it in thinners will loosen it. If it's pretty much anything else it's probably stuck on permanently .

Is it a plastic or metal pot?
A metal pot may be able to be heated to soften the paint. Can you unscrew the pot's outlet riser from the gun handle?....................................................................

A long swim in thinners shifts most things.
well at least softens them.
Using the gun to apply sprayable contact cement also shifts lots of stuff.
