Finish for celery top pine outdoor sign?
Hi everyone,
I'm making a house name sign using a slab of celery top pine and was wondering what the best option would be for a good long-lasting outdoors finish?
I've got some yacht varnish and Danish oil already, and was told by a friend that the oil would be the best way to go as the sign should last a long long time if it gets an annual recoating.
Would love to hear opinions on whether that was a good way to go or may be something different?
Cheers.

Exterior work
My opinion would be to go with the yacht varnish for exterior work.
You never know whats in some "danish oils."
Good Luck

Thanks MacS,
If I wanted to go the oil route, are there any types in particular that would be best to try?
Thanks.

Exterior Coating
Be sure you read the labels, and that it states, it is a "exterior oil finish."
Good Luck
