sealing pipework

Life has thrown my family some crazy hurdles lately so my limited free time in the newly rented shed is important.
Previously Ive joined 150 pipework together simply by pushing and small screws to stop falling apart but I was aware that mi'nute gaps allowed air to escape. I have used white duct tape over joins but never getting a clean looking finish over the joins.
Is there a secret I am yet to learn in appying duct tape or is there another option.

Duct tape should stretch, make sure you leave the roll in the sun or warm location prior to use.
When applying you need to provide enough force to stretch the tape so it takes up the difference in surface levels.

Most important, don’t confuse Gaffer tape with the fibreglass reinforcing with Duct tape that has no reinforcing.

Unless your have ducting on the pressure side of the impeller (is between impeller and filters/bags, which should where possible be outside your shed) then no air will be escaping into your shed but from your shed into the ductwork.
I only seal up if it makes a noise and then as Droog says, use stretchy dict tape.
