I placed an order online with Mcjing for a few bits late yesterday. I was a lbit concerned because I didn't get an order confirmation but at lunchtime
a package arrived all in good order

Yeah- lot of people seem to have received good service from them (myself included).

I would have no problem recommending people purchase from them over the phone etc. They are very prompt with delivery, and seem genuinely wanting to please customers.

Yep same experience. Ordered one day, didnt arrive the next, but the day after All good!

I have had the same experience, what bothered me was I think I was speaking to Mr Mac and his accent is so deadpan you almost get the impression that he is not interested.
As others have said, the parcel arrived two days later (the norm for us) and I suspect that when the phone was hung up the order was packaged and sent.
A few of the 'big' companies could learn a lot, like one who had goods in stock but still took over a week to despatch, if you are that busy, becoming successful, put on some more staff and make the punters happy.

I know it's an old thread but ...

Just wanted to mention the service received from McJing.
I ordered some tools online yesterday, they arrived this morning.

The only problem I have is with their website. There is no confirmation sent about what you've ordered, once you confirm your payment details, the order information is gone.

Perhaps I should offer to upgrade their website in return for tools

Geoff, that is the main thing that puts me off buying stuff over the net. IMHO McJing and Vermac are at the bottom end of the scale as far as shopping on the net and Carroll's, Lumber Bunker and Lee Valley are at the other end.

Luckily for me, I can get to Mcjing's store at Yagoona, but I always end up buying more than I planned

That is not the experience I had with McJing.

I ordered a dead and a live centre on a Friday a few weeks ago. Placed order via internet around 10am, received a confirmation email by 12noon, which also told me that the order would be dispatched that day. Goods arrived via Express Post on Monday morning, all that for $10 postage.

The same thing would have cost $16 postage from other suppliers and taken a week or so.

So full marks to McJing, this wasn't my first order, and it certainly won't be the last.

OK so i know this is a reeeaaaallly old thread, but i've recently moved to Yagoona and these guys are up the road from me.

Wanted to see if anyone here has shopped there recently? I'm still very much in the set up phase of my new hobby, and there are some basics i need to acquire to get myself going in earnest (built a dodgy toybox out of mdf for the little bloke, but i'm seriously light on in terms of tools, so its a bit ordinary).

Just wanted to know how people find these guys for price & quality? I'm trying to get myself to some markets for some good 2nd hand chisels, planes, clamps etc, but in lieu of that thought i'd check these guys out.

Any info/advise would save me about a 10 minute walk

There's a bit of a mixture as far as quality goes, but Max is straight up and down. If you tell him that you're looking for something of reasonable quality he won't sell you junk. They have some products from the best Chinese factories and Max is always an absolute pleasure to deal with in my experience.
