What is my laptop worth?
Im looking at upgrading and would like to know what I could get for my currrent laptop. I have alredy checked on ebay for a pricing guide and i can only assume it would be somewhere between $300-$400. I just want to see what you guys think...
HP PAVILLION DV2500 DV2632TX 14.1" NOTEBOOK LAPTOP + VISTA HOME PREMIUM
Screen Size: 14.1"
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo T5250 @ 1.5Ghz
Operating System: Windows Vista Home Premium
HDD: 160GB
RAM: 1GB
Graphics: Nvidia GeForce 8400MGS 256MB
Laptop Features:
WIFI
BLUETOOTH
DVD RW LIGHTSCRIBE
WEBCAM
SVIDEO
CARD READER
EXPANSION PORT
HDMI
REMOTE CONTROL
MOUSE etc
Works perfectly, just some minor cosmetic wear and tear. The main issue however is a minor scratch on the screen itself. It is only tiny and does not affect the image in any way, so how much do you think that would affect the asking price?
Cheers for your advice!

$300 -$400 would be a reasonable price. When I was running Windows laptops I would upgrade every 18 months on average and the machines were virtually worth nothing so would be consigned to the growing pile of obsolete laptops in my garage. Like most electrical goods these days laptops are designed as throw away items.....upgrade options are virtually non existant and Microsfot does an excellent job of making sure that their operating systems rapidly outgrow the capabilities of computers to run same.

Yeah, have to agree, second hand computers and the like don't' have much of a resale value, If you can make that kind of money then you will be doing okayPersonally I never trade computers because you can usually get a discount equal to what they offer for a second hand one or very close to it but I usually build my own anyway.
I recently bought 2 LCD monitors. 5ms response time with both video type connectors including DVI and AVG cables and power cords. 19 inch regular screen and 22inch wide screen that retails at $395. Gave $200 for the two of them.
I mention the DVI cables cos, they are sold in stores for around the $30 mark.
Good luck with your sale anyway.Reality is no background music.

BTW I dont think the scratch on the screen will make any difference to the value of your laptop. Most scratches are not visible when the monitor is on anyway.
Reality is no background music.
