Emergency Exits
I am searching for some information in regards to the distances required to be kept clear around emergency exits. I have been told its 3sqm around all exits. I need something to use as a reference (ie chap, para and subpara) for a sign at my wifes place of work. I had been told its somewhere in the BCA, but I do not have a copy handy to use. The on line version at work has been down for a few days thanks to a few technical issues. Any help will be appreciated
Dave,
hug the tree before you start the chainsaw.

Like you my references are at work
However, my recollection is that the "path" to the door must be a minimum of 1.2m wide
Personally I wouldn't bother with a sign. If obstructing the door is an issue, mark the floor with yellow tape or paint and send arround a note advising everyone that the marked are must be kept clear
If you wife has a concern with how the exists are being used I suggest you ring the Queensland equivalent of WorkCoverregards from Alberta, Canada
