Festool Guide Rail Alternatives
Hi WWF,
Anyone tried one of these with a Festool TS55?
DS36000000R AGP 3600MM Guide Rail For Plunge Cut Saws | Other Accessories - TradeTools | Huge Range, Great Service
I know it won’t be full compatible with all Festool tools and accessories but was keen to understand if it can be use in its bare config with the Festool

Makita rails work perfectly with the TS55 and are half the cost.

That is dirt cheap if it is compatible, would almost be worth the drive to QLD to get one
Cheers Andrew

I have three 1400mm Festool guides and join them as required, I leave two basically permanently joined for sheet work
The joiners hold them straight quite well

I use the Makita track with a Festool saw. Very satisfied. Out of curiosity I purchased a track from Bunnings, which no doubt is similar to all the cheapies. What it reminded me of was that you get what you pay for: the connection to join tracks is weak (one connector and not two), and the rubber zero clearance is rubbish (peels off and is brittle).

They are marginally different to the Festool track but that can be adjusted up on the saw. The reason I didn’t buy a Makita track is because I also have the Festool ones so I would need to keep adjusting saw when jumping between tracks.
I tried them both out in store to check the difference
