Building in a nook
Morning folks, today's job is to convert our junk nook into a junk cupboard. It's gyprocked all around with wooden skirts and gyprocked cornice. The plan is to close the top of the nook out with gyprock and re cornice. I think the skirting board should be squared off at the front where the doors will be.is there a proper way to do it? Mounting shelves into the space will be with some sort of quarter round faced trim. Any better methods? I plan to use finger jointed pine 20mm pine sheets to make four doors (2 up, 2 down). What material for the shelves? Dimensions are 655mm across and 300mm deep. Lastly, how do I best mount the hinges onto the inside of the nook? Apologies for the grainy photos, the Ol' iPad is a little grainy inside.
