Painting a toy shelf
I am in the process of making a toy shelf, 1800W x 1200H x 350 D. It has two shelves to give 300mm between the top and first shelf, and 400mm spacing between the other shelves and base, and there are supports at 600mm centres, like in the attached sketch.
What would be the best way to paint this unit, please? Brush, roller or HVLP spray gun, or a combination of these?
Should it be undercoated before assembly, bearing in mind there are a lot of rabbets and dadoes in this

Hi Jill, IF you have the opportunity, paint it before you put it together - use whatever affords you the quickest coverage. That way all you have to touch up will be the edges.
Yes undercoat it first, Then finish it off with a good quality enamel paint - two coats ( I am from the old school of painting.)I try and do new things twice.. the first time to see if I can do it.. the second time to see if I like it
