Loose tiles in bathroom /my first tiling job
Could I please have a few tips on how to do this quickly and easily without making a dogs breakfast of it (or provide a useful link or two).
Last night, while taking our first shower in our "new" place we discovered that almost all the tiles around the bathtub are loose. We already knew that some were cracked and some loose but the house was re-leveled a few days ago and this probably aggravated the situation. It is currently just a vertical stack of tiles with a few little bits of cracked grouting holding it together! We are planning to remove them carefully, clean them up, re-glue and re-grout. The old tiling job was a bit dodgy (less than 1mm gap between tiles) so with a bit of luck we will have enough to cover the spots where the old ones had cracked. We are planning to totally replace the bathroom in a year or two so this will have to be a "quick and dirty" job to keep it going til then. The tiles are about 150x150mm and were probably installed in 1966.
