wall bracing and stud size issues
hi guys,
i have a large wall to build and brace.
its an external 2nd story load bearing wall (roof),
wind classification is n1.
i have attached a picture (not to scale.. ms paint job...) with the sizes.
designIT and the hyne program have design limits of 3.6m and 3m high walls so they cant recommend anything.
and i cant find anything on bracing for walls over 2.7m
now, my thought was to use 140x45 mgp10 studs at 450 centres as im not sure if 90x45mgp10 is sufficient due to the height.
secondly, bracing...
since i cant find any reference on how to brace such a large wall with windows, i was thinking of using 9mm structural ply on the whole wall, or thicker if i use 90*45 studs.
the wall will be cladded with scyon stria.
any opinions?
