Hats off to Cliff
Hi all,
I'm not one to say much but having read another post by Cliff in response to a fellow forumite's question (re Longworth Chuck), it occurred to me that this bloke seems to have an amazing ability of being able to dredge up all the relevant past posts about every question he answers.
Thanks Cliff for time and again going that bit further and doing the research for us.
If there was a poll for the most helpful forumite of the month, you would have my vote!!!Cheers

I'll vote for the Rat's Ring
Seriously though, Cliff is one of many forumites who do a lot of helping 'behind the scenes'. On a number of occasions he has posted out a list of starter links to wannabe turners (thanks mate), plus advice in threads and, on occasion, he comes down to Melb to join in on a turnfest.
First met him in 1976 (! - we're officially old farts Cliff) and we met up again through the forums many years later. A top bloke, has his foibles like the rest of us, but is a starter you want in every race.
Don't forget the others though, there are some grumpy, intractable, argumentative old coots out there who all provide very good advice. It is nice to recognise them on occasion, so don't forget to send them a greenie when they help, it is the least you can do.

Definitions of foible:
noun: the weaker part of a sword's blade from the forte to the tip
noun: a behavioral attribute that is distinctive and peculiar to an individualCliff.

Yeah well, I owe Cliff on a number of fronts!
... and a couple of them are for a HUGE helping hand!
I'd like to think what goes around comes around, and urge anyone reading this thread to follow Cliffie's lead.
The world's a better place 'cos of people like him (and of course moi!).
Cheers,
P

Who said love-in's were dead?!
When I joined this esteemed group many moons past, Cliff was the one who really made me feel welcome, for which he will be reviled by fellow forumites for eternity. Having said that, he is still a grumpy old . . .Cheers,
Bob

He's gone to bed.
Can we say what we really think now?
