Gift idea?
SWMBO was struggling with the logistics of serving ice cream cones to the family on the weekend.
I spent a couple of hours in the shed to whip up an ice cream cone rack.
The ends are Red Cedar, and the cross pieces are Silky Oak.
The ends were band sawed and leaned up with spokeshaves.
I used a forstner bit to drill 30mm (from memory) holes in the top piece.
The cross pieces are tenoned into cross grain mortices on the ends. I also used small glue blocks under the joints for more stability.
Finished with a few rubs of a shellac/BLO mix.
Fell free to steal the design if you're looking for a quick and cheap silly season gift
