Default I'm back, must make up time

    Hi,
I have been engaged on other projects & managed without help for a while now.
Yesterday fixing the warped palings on our boundary fence I sought my trusty Yankee 130A, this is the one about 300mm long when retracted.
I needed to refix with square socket head screws, made for just this purpose (steel but uncertain of the finish), & said to be best for treated pine.
Then realised my Yankee will not accept the range of modern interchangeable bits of which I have around 100. Bugger !!!!!
This Yankee can drive screws like nothing else, even though the spring action slips, so I have to use as simple retracted ratcheting driver.
    So two questions:
    1) Without spending more than the Yankee was worth new, does anyone know of a "mod" that will extend use to the wide range of bits but specifically the one to drive these square socket screws?
    2) Does anyone have a really good understanding of Yankee disassembly & reassembly with points to watch for. Yes a web search has shown some available info but it's seriously incomplete.
There must be some old timers who know the ins & outs of what was once probably a favourite tool.
    Thanks guys,
    Peter O

Try here for the square drive bits

I found a really good instruction for disassembly recently but am having trouble finding it again. Will post again when i find it.

    Edit: Found it. http://www.instructables.com/id/Yank...r-Maintenance/
Those were the droids I was looking for.
