walker's splitcane rod
gday all,
i have a split cane rod it does need runners and a minor restore, but overall is in great condition it is engraved walkers sealake ive seen a few go through ebay but most have stickers not etching, does anyone know any history on these rods.

I had a look on Google and found that Jarvis Walker made a rod
called the "Sealake".
They are located at 297-305 South Gippsland Hwy in Dandenong South
with the phone number 8787-6900.
Perhaps you could gain more information from them.

Gave them a call,no luck. Apparently they lost a lot of records to a fire.

One of our Northern Woodturners Club members is secretary
of a fishing club. He is quite an expert on making split cane
rods and recently gave a talk at the club on the subject.
I have referred it to him, just in case one of the members
of his club has any clues on it.
Will let you know what transpires.
