Default Builing a Deck and Pergola

    Hey guys

Just looking for a little bit of help, i've recently puchaced my first home and am looking to build a deck and pergola (roughly 7000mm x 5000mm). I have a plan drawn out so i know what im in for in regards to materials but what im having trouble with is actually finding the regulations in regards to building permits and so forth. The goverment and council sites are hopeless as i need a Degree just to navigate and understand what they are saying. If anyone is able to help in anyway would be greatly appreciatted. Just so you know im on the Gold Coast fairly sure the laws are different in each state.

    Thanks

    Corey

    G'day Corey,
All the decking stuff moved to our sister forum Renovate Forums - Powered by vBulletin, and I reckon you should have a look there at the DECKING sub-forum.
    See you there.

I know here in Sydney you can do a 3 hour coarse which covers council regulations, how to build etc. It costs $70.

Maybe you can look at something like that in your own state?
