Plastic textured sheeting??
First time home owners, and not very handy ones at that, have a house built in the 60's, with wallpaper, and disgusting white/grey carpet throughout. Have ripped up the carpets and have beautiful floorboards which we will have sanded and sealed, started ripping up the old vinyl wallpaper, got to the paper backing, used a steamer to get rid of the glue, and we are left with a textured off white plastic type sheeting, not what we expected! Where do we go from here? We were hoping to paint throughout, but also hoping not to have to plaster throughout - can anyone point me in the right direction??
