Gutter in join from klip lok to polycarbonate?
Evening all,
We have a 1930's cal bungalow. Back roof is mostly klip lok with the back corner (7m x 3.6m) in fibreglass for the patio. It's a bit odd. They have installed a standard low profile quad gutter between the klip lok and the fibreglass. Around 75m2 drains into this gutter. This is effectively a very poor design box gutter. When it rains heavily the gutter overflows over the edge and cascades down the back of the sliding doors in the patio area.
I am going to replace the fibreglass as it is in poor condition and was also going to install a new gutter. Having problems with the gutter design. I can't go any deeper than about 75mm as the gutter sits on top of the roof beams supporting the fibreglass roof. When I do the gutter sizing according to Aust standard (1 in 20 year in Sydney as I will have overflow into the patio) I need a 75mm x 220mm box gutter. This seems large.
Is there any other way I could do this? I can't see how I can avoid having a gutter as the matching the klip lock and polycarbonate profiles is not possible.
Any advice appreciated.
Tom
