My Birthday Today

Just thought I'd share a few reflections on my 51st birthday today that I planned to have the day off and do a few personal things ......

00:01 - still logged on remotely into work since 19:00 - a few issues needing urgent attention
00:30 - still logged on but fell asleep on the lounge
03:00 - remote system died screen all frozen
06:00 - remote system still dead and screen still frozen, major train delays, issues now urgent with multiple failures but my counterpart can't get to work nor log in remotely
07:00 - breakfast and cards containing $350 worth of Carbatec vouchers
08:00 - several phone calls from work, things are looking worse than first imagined
09:00 - annual doctors check-up to keep blood pressure intact
10:00 - bucket list item - get my HR learners and book my first lesson
11:00 - back to doctors but this time for 19month grand-daughter
11:30 - off to Carbatec
12:30 - standing in Carbatec amoungst all the jointers, thicknessers, etc and the phone rings ...
13:30 - I'm in the office talking to the team and Project Managers about issues but did get to show-off cute GD
16:30 - at the post office, parcel was for wife not my eagerly awaited blade order
17:00 - back home and logged into work
19:00 - dinner with family at local pub
20:30 - still logged into work and will be here all weekend ....

Maybe next year I can relax and enjoy some quiet time on my birthday or even out in the shed .....

Wouldn't it have been a good time to have ISP problems, you know, the ones that last all day? Oh, and the phone just happened to drop out of your pocket into the loo as well.
