Where To Put This???

We have a late night talk show on the telly that has a feature called, 'HEADLINES'. This feature shows some of the really stupid and poor use of language found in American newspapers. A while ago there was an employment advertisement for an office administrator.

Some of the job requirements were the ability to "Speak and write Australian". I guess the ad goes in the category, 'Not Everyone Can Be A Rocket Scientist.'

They are not alone, one of my mother's cousins had all sorts of problems in the U.K. in the 1950's - people refused to believe he was Australian because he was 'white', claimed to be unable to understand what language he was speaking etc. He ended up spending several months in Oxford working on gaining an 'acceptable' accent.
