Asian hyroglifiks

Hi all
Is there anyone here on the forum in Melbourne who can read Asian characters?
I think they are Chinese, but not sure, Ive tried to scan them with little success, so cant post here.
They are on the bottom of a vase.

I worked for an Asian character, could read him, said &&&&&&&&, still owes me a heap:mad:

I can speak Chinese, Nee Ha, thats the extent of it.

Remind me on Sunday - I'll take a couple of digital pics, and show them to a couple of Asian guys at work, see if they can read them.. Termite's probably right though - or "not for export"...

This thing is old.....old.
Im guessing early 1800's, maybe earlier.

Its a cloisonne.

And there was I, thinking that a cloisonne was a breakfast pastry with a speech impediment.

Probably explains why I keep breaking my bloody teeth on the bastards after I've spread them with butter and strawberry jam.
