Smile Interior finish for a Tea Caddy ?

Dear Brains Trust for all things woody

I had a nice piece of SheOak looking for an ornamental project. The good wife suggested she needed a caddy to hold two types of tea (she knows and likes her tea) so I said OK....

Anyway the job is done, and I must say that sheoak is a fantasic wood to work with and the grain character and pattern is unique. I was going to oil/wax the exterior, so any useful tips would be appreciated, but more importantly any ideas for the interior, my thoughts are to leave it and let the sheoak impart it's own flavour to the tea. (I could be in for trouble from the tea guru...)

Any neutral finish ideas ? Does it need it, given it only holds dry tea.

    Thanks
    Mark

Try shellac as the finish, made from bug guts/gizzards/excretions or something, it pretty harmless.
