some advice needed.
[link text](Linoleum Flooring - Floors Melbourne)
A few weeks ago i ran the sink over and flooded the kitchen dining and living and 3 bedrooms floors the house has been dried out and repairs are taking place ,now my wife doesn't want to re carpet the bedrooms she wants lino and i'm happy with that but we don't have any idea as what we should put down quality wise i would rather not have to do this again so what should you use for bedroom floors,i should add the floors are yellow tongue sheeting and they are 19 years old and in pretty good shape although they would need a light sand i would think because they have drip and smears of paint and plaster on them ,any advice will be appreciated thanks .

Traditionally lino was put down on top of masonite that was glued and nailed to the subfloor
I'm not sure what is done these days
I predict that you will seriously regret a decision to use lino in the bedrooms.regards from Alberta, Canada

When I was young my mother went crazy on floor coverings, axminster through the living areas and vinyle tiles in the family room and kitchen. 3 boys and everything from dragging white goods across them and football boots, never a mark. I don't know what the brand was, probably expensive, but I have always remembered how durable they were. Not cold to walk on either, and glass doesn't break when dropped like ceramic tiles.
Personally I'd polish the timber and lay a good quality rug, but you know the first rule of marraige.
BTW SWMBO is often attributed to rumpole of the bailey, but the writers must have got it from the 1965 film "She" produced by hammer horror and starring ursula andres, peter cushing, christopher lee..I'm just a startled bunny in the headlights of life. L.J. Young.

Thank you for your advice Ian and Damian we were leaning towards polishing the floors and putting some rugs down, we have polished floors in the kitchen, dining room and lounge room and they do look nice and it isn't hard to keep clean .
