ok..need urgent advice on concrete floor
I had a timber floor over a concrete slab in a laundry. I did post the question in laundry http://www.renovateforum.com/f206/ha...-floor-112086/ but this is prob. the better place for it.
Anyway now with the boards up I can see the slab has sunk and cracked considerably. I could put floor sheeting down and tile over the existing joists/bearers shown in the photo, but it means a step up into the laundry. I'd much prefer to have the floor same level as rest of house. I don't trust just levelling off the slab as I think it will continue to sink. My option demolish the slab.. (it is suspended slab 2400x1700 around 100mm thick) and replace with new stumps and sub floor or could I do another concrete slab perhaps? I dont mind the time and effort and I don't mind an extra couple of hundred to get the right finish.
What is the best option for laundry floor?
