what is the proper way to lay electrical cable for power points?
im trying to clear up who is right and wrong. me and my mate who are not electricians and dno not intend to do anything of the such, we have different ideas as to what is the proper way to run wires for power points.
I have seen wires run across the wall from power point to power point that are only a few metres apart if that in my rounds or destruction and renovation of houses, but my mate he reckons legally you need to run power wires vertically up the wall and across the roof and back down the wall a couple metres away to be legal??
I am thinking it doesnt matter if its a couple metres away, run it horizontally through the wall, and doing so will save many metres of wire.
So what is the proper way?? up and down the wall or is across the proper way or doesnt it really matter?
