    Default Restoring Sily Oak Bifolds

    Hey guys,

I've got some doors, think they are silky oak. They were painted white and then someone has tried to strip them with a scraper. This has pulled up alot of grain etc. Just wondering how to start off fixing them as I haven't attempted a restoration before.

Had a look around on the site and everything was still at least finished etc and not butchered like this. Any advice? Worth saving?

I reckon they are worth saving. They will not look pristine but they will be fine with all their history. I have done quite a few doors and windows including silky oak.

You are welcome to bring one around and we can discuss.
    cheers
