End of retirement...
G'day you lot.
As some may have noticed I've not been around here much lately.
On top of setting up my new computer its been a hectic up and down year which is culminating in the premature end of my retirement. (56 is too young anyway).
This has been my year to date:
Jan- Great Granddaughter, Grace Isabella born
- I turned 55
- My youngest brother turned 40
- Second youngest Brother turned 50
- My son turned 31 and still doesn't have a job
- My 4th youngest brother died aged 53
- My father turned 73 (and won't make 75 sadly)
- Not a lot
- Not a lot
- New extension flooded due to poorly manufactured box gutter.
- New extension flooded again, same cause as builder hadn't been back
August- New extension flooded 3rd time. Warrant out for my arrest - choked my builder to death....just kidding guys... but should've...
- Crushed my bad foot again...under a load of sheeting my builder left unsecured...gonna kill the mongrel soon....
September- started a part-time job.
- told 'em to shove the rotten job
- My daughter, Isabella, gave birth to my lovely 2nd grandchild Adrian Esther- another beautiful little girl -(yep, the kid was born an auntie to Grace Isabella her mother's granddaughter..this is Tassie but you'll work it out).
- Got a good job working weekends in a timber store.
- My ex-MIL died of pancreatic cancer.
- Got sacked - couldn't afford my wages....bloody John Howard. Work Choices. Yeah right.
- Twin brothers turn 53
- My current MIL had a massive stroke. Ok now but right side buggered and we are looking after her.
- Extension flooded again. Got nasty with the project manager AND builder.
- John Howard got his just deserts.
- My mum died of liver cancer
- My youngest brother came from England - too late - to see our Mum.
- We went fishing and I caught 2 salmon and he caught 2 silver trevally.
- Step daughter tells us she's pregnant with 4th child..yet another stupid baby bonus. We happy but.
- And to cap it all off I got offered a top job 2 days after the federal election by a new Minister to run his electorate office.
I'm gonna miss my shed and my planes and my loverly Festools and other goodies but I'll come home to see them at least once a month (and check that (sort of) ex-swmbo is ok without me - a given i guess - (we might be reconciling now I'm leaving home for around 3 years - possible 6 if Labor wins next time around).
So I reckon I could spending a bit of time getting to know kiwi in oz a bit better - and his shed environs of course.
Finally, if any of you need a friend in high places, I'm your man. If you have any problems related to federal government departments pm me as I'll be doing a bit of posting from the office when I get a chance.
Anyway, felicitations and my best wishes to youse and yours for the coming annual booze and prawn fest.
And hopefully 2008 will be MY year...
Bloody oath, pouring rain outside and I can hear the extension drip drip drip. Definitely gonna kill the builder.

Hi there Sheddy,
Like others have said before me. Sorry to hear about your 2007. Am sure 2008 will be better.
Enjoy the festive season and hope to hear about those infrequent shed visits and the tools the new job will afford.
All the best
Cheers
