Default WOODWORKING QUIZ for 24 AUG 04

    Good Evening Friends,
There have been several discussions about steam bending boxes in the past.
If you were going to make one how would you go about the chore?

    Respectfully,

can't really see why you would want to bend steam

You have to if you have a bent spout on your kettle.

It only takes one drink to get me loaded. Trouble is, I can't remember if it's the thirteenth or fourteenth.

Use a large diameter plastic pipe, probably insulate the outside to slow down condensation, fix it on an slight angle so any condensation runs out, almost seal both ends but allow some path for steam to escape, fit sticks across the bottom for the timbr to be bent to sit on so it isn't sitting in any water.

Feed steam into the slightly elevated end.

I have never done myself but it is a "one of these days" project.
