    Default Pays to shop around

Needed some Aluminium Angle 40x40x3, about 6mtrs. Checked Bunnings, $49.90 for 3 mtrs so $100 for 6 mtrs, or $16.65mtr.

Thought that was a bit exxy and checked a couple of other hardware store here in Bendigo but they were the same price.

Checked Masters in Ballarat, 2160mm for $23.60, or $10.92/mtr. Much better but a bit of a drive.

SWMBO suggested I check the company where I buy my SS round bar, Masfield.

Yes, they stock it, 6.5mtr length for $41.25 or $6.30/mtr and they cut it in 3 for no extra so it was easy to transport.

As they say it pays to shop around! Some phone calls saved $60, gotta be happy with that.

In my experience it is nearly always cheaper to buy from the metal merchants vs hardware stores. The product is usually better quality aswell.

    Ask yourself,

"Where do the $$$$ do the most good, your pocket or theirs?"

No brainer - it always pays to check around.

Mind you, if the local bloke is a few dollars more than the "biggies" I'll support him as he is the only poor sod trying to keep the "biggies" honest.
