    Default Attwill Furniture Polish

    There is a furniture store in the area that sell a furniture polish that is made from an old recipe and it contains gum turpentine, paraffin oil (kerosene to you Aussies) and a few more ingredients including oil of cedar for aroma.

    The polish is white, will separate, and is the thickness of liquid paste wax.

    It is both a cleaner and polish and is only good for finished furniture.

    Anyone have any idea of the other ingredients??

    Could be this. Anyone have any comments?

    30 grams of beeswax, 15 grams paraffin wax, 15 grams of pure soap, 120 ml. turpentine, 120 ml. water and 5 mls of essence.

    Sounds a little like this but not exactly the same -

    Liquid Beeswax Furniture Polish<o></o>

    <!--[if !supportLists]-->
    ·
    <!--[endif]-->50 grams of Pure Soap Flakes
    <!--[if !supportLists]-->·<!--[endif]-->100 grams of Beeswax
    <!--[if !supportLists]-->·<!--[endif]-->500 mls Turpentine
    <!--[if !supportLists]-->·<!--[endif]-->250 mls Water
    <o></o>
    Dissolve the soap in warm water in one pan – put the shaved wax into the turpentine in another pan and warm gently until the wax is thoroughly melted and dissolved.

    Then pour the soap mixture into the turpentine, stirring with a wooden stick. When dissolved and well mixed, pour into storage jars.

    Hint: when mixing ingredients ensure they are of the same temperature.

    Like many such recipes I guess they're all capable of being tweaked to suit the maker or the locality so you may not find one exactly the same as the one you are after......
