    Default Black laminate edging

    Hi all

I have made some large wardrobe doors out of 18mm black laminate (well the brand is laminex). I have applied 1mm edging tape (also black) to the door edges, but unfortunately my edge bander always leaves a 0.5mm glue line between the edging tape and door edge.

When I use the bander on white melamine with white edging tape this is not visible at all. But on the black, it is evident, especially given these doors are 2.4m high.

I've tried methylated spirits to clean the excess glue off. I don't want to dye the glue pot, because it will be a nightmare to clean later. Are there any tips that people use to hide the glue line?

Did the methylated spirits reduce the glue? You could try isopropyl alcohol too
