Home made dial indicator fittings

Been busy on and off knocking up a dial indicator stand and fittings ,the base is designed to clamp onto the Tee slot cross slide table of the Myford lathe .
I can also use these on my mill .
All of the parts are made from 316 stainless steel except for the square pieces.
The long bar with the hinge joint is part of a fine adjuster so you can move the dial up and down with a thumb screw .
Still have a way to go to finish the fine adjuster ,made a couple of more parts for it after it took the pics.

Time , mmm wish I could have more time at home ,rather that at the salt mine.
They are always crapping on about work /life balance at work .
Two days a week at home and five days at work dosen't balance ,not in my book .
I'm working on early retirement or reducing my hours to three days a week , thats what I call balance.

Old work colleagues are saying to me , why don't you just buy them ,they are cheap enough and readily available ,true , but I'm enjoying what I'm making , getting my skills back after many years off the machines.

Nice work Kev. Will be watching with interest to see it fully functional. I would love to have a small metal lathe in my shed. I am always on the lookout for one but they are always out of my price range. Dontcha just love playin around in the shed. ( safely)

Kev I agree with the sentiment now if I had a bigger shed more tools and plenty free material I'd be at it more oh and better weather.

Ray ,
some of my material is free but most costs me ,slabs of beer.
I have acquaintance with a guy who owns an engineering business he lets me scrounge through his off cut bin basically I can take what I need for a slab every now and then.
Been off the metal work for a week or so ,had a job to do for Missus Woodlee.
Then I made my first fancy wooden box to house some tools for the mill, spent too much time on it ,but seem to have caught the box making bug.Next job some more boxes for tool storage.

Yes the misses always seem to find a job here or there don't they.

Slab gee thats not cheep these days is it....I know a bloke who offered to do some things for me said a slab will do the promptly said of Hieniken
