Bathroom reno
Hello all, just found this site and would like to ask what anyone can recommend for flooring in a first floor bathroom? I have stripped back to the original hardwood floorboards which did not extend under the bath/shower so I have to either lay new boards to match the existing or rip that out and start from bare joists. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

Airmech,
Have you considered buying some cheap material to cover where the bath / shower was and then tiling the floor? I'm definitely no expert but it would help make waterproofing easier.
Cheers

Thanks Brett, I have stripped the whole room back to the studs and will be installing new fittings and wall coverings, so I want to make a thorough job of it. I'm planning on laying vinyl rather than tiles.

hi air mech
If you want to do the job properly I wouldn't recomend vinyl for a bathroom floor. Tiles with a waterproof membrane under them is the best way to go.
