Default Kingston, Ontario, Canada is Home

    Hi, everyone,

I'm an avid woodworker who enjoys nothing better than to spend time in my home-based studio, designing and crafting one-of-a-kind pieces. My current undertaking is finishing the interior elements of our "forever" home. Just completed the great room's fireplace mantle and our kitchen (few photos enclosed) and am about to tackle the stairway railings. I'm not a terribly skilled turner, so this should afford me the opportunity to become acquainted more intimately with my lathe. Perhaps Darrin will give me a few hints as this moves along?

Should things work out according to our timelines - which they seldom do - I'll next be crafting a desk for my best friend, who fills my life with joy. She's also my wife and partner. Its design will incorporate gentle curves and a few exciting surprises, but above all, it'll be functional and elegant. Which is what I strive for in all my pieces.

I've taken the liberty to include a link to the Kingston Woodworkers Association's website and blog: KWA - HOME. That association is a great source of inspiration and contacts for all things wood related, here in my neck of the woods. Hope you'll drop in for a peek.

To my fellow woodworkers on the other side of this ball we call Earth, all the best with your woodworking. Thanks for opening your doors to me.

    Marty Schlosser,
    Kingston, Ontario
