Yes they're everywhere now. I guess it makes them more visible and better value for money for those advertising.

I also get them, despite having AdBlock installed. I guess the site's operational costs has to be paid for somehow.

Are you sure it is enabled? Try toggling it to see the difference.

Ad-block user here. Nada. Have you got filters set up?

I'm using EasyList, EasyPrivacy and Fanboy's Social Blocking List as my filters.

I used to be able to click on an email link and get through to the Forum with no ads, and I presumed that I was being logged on via 'remember me'. Now I have to log on each time I visit if I want to get rid of the ads. Has anything changed at the Forum end?

NB: THIS POST IS DIRECTED AT ANYONE WITH A PROBLEM

Ads only appear at the pop of the page to non members and those who have not logged in.
With the exception of New Members who see ads until they have made a certain number of posts

Those ads help to pay to keep the forums running. So basically the people who see them and click on them are the ones who pay for members to have a free forum which is also free from ads for members. With the exception of 1 almost useless Google ad in the right hand column, below the forum sponsors.

Log in and you won't see them or don't log in and see them. It's that simple.

If you log out when you leave you will have to log in again when you return, even if you click on the Remember me box. When you log out all the cookies are cleared automatically and the cookies are what enable you to be automatically logged in because they keep all your details on your computer ready for your next visit (or something like that).

Your computer may also be clearing cookies and cache memory as a part of it's virus or malware scans, so you may need to tell the program to accept cookies from woodworkforums.com.

The side banners are forum sponsors and also help to pay to keep the forums free and running. I urge members to look at those side column sponsors banners and the ones at the top of some forums before looking elsewhere for goods/services, tools/equipment, etc. By supporting the sponsors they will continue to support the forums.

Hope this is of some help.

    Cheers - Neil

    Just as an aside.

Please make sure you are logging into the correct url for woodwork forums as there may well be people still logging in with our old original url or with .com.au The full correct url is below:

    https://www.woodworkforums.com
    or
    www.woodworkforums.com

There are a heap of others but the 2 above should fix any problems people are having with remembering logins.
If you have Woodwork Forums bookmarked please make sure it is with either of the above urls and if not please change it.

Some other domain names for Woodwork Forums are below.
    woodworkforums.com.au
    woodworkforums.asia
    woodworkforums.us
    woodworkforums.net
    woodworkforums.org
    woodworkforums.mobi
    woodworkforums.info
    woodworkforums.me

Thanks very much for that Neil - I certainly wasn't remarking about the sponsor ads. Things seem to have reverted to normal now, so not sure what was going on.
