Carbatec Combination Thicknesser/ Jointer Easy to disassemble?
Hi all!
Im about to buy a Carbatec Combination Thicknesser/ Jointer and I'm would like to know if it disassembles into many bits, and if so roughly how much does the main bit weigh? I plan on lowering the machine using a chain block attached to the balcony above... but I'm still working out the logistics...
Thanks,
Tom

Its heavy, and doesn't come that much apart (to make a difference).
Mine rattled apart but I don't think that helps.

Not sure what you're trying to do, but it sounds dangerous! Have you thought of heading to the nearest hire shop like Kennards and getting an engine crane for half a day?

The easiest way to make the weight manageable is to take the tabl;es off - they are easily removable. Next more difficult would be the motor.
The rest would be eaily moved by two people.
A small chain block will have no trouble at all. I estimate the weight without tables and motor to be around 100kg or less.

helix cutter for carbatec combo planner
Hi, can anybody help with info regarding the change out of the cutter block on the carbatec 10in combo machine? I'm planning to install a helix cutter if I can find the instructions for getting the current head head out of th e machine - it looks a bit daunting.

Helix Cutter for Carbatec Combo
I have fitted my 15 inch Carbatec with some USA Byrd spiral cutters and found it a realatively easy job. The local workshop manuals have little data and I found a lot more useful information on the Grizzly.com USA website under " product manuals" which you can download. I am not sure if they have a similar 10 inch machine but they do have a GO655 12 inch manual that should help.
Cheers,
PaintMan
