    Default G'day from Virginia USA!

    Hello Woodworkers!
I am new to the woodworking world and I am eager to learn more! I just uncovered my grandfather's woodworking tools and would like to learn more about them such as their age and how they were used. Where could post pictures and get advice?
    Thanks!

    G'day Tracy

Welcome aboard, its nice to have. As for posting pics. There is a section for handtools. Im guessing you are mostly talking about hand tools. Just post them there. If you make a mistake one of the mods might just move it to a new section. Also there is another section for power tools, machinery etc. It is just a matter of looking around. That being said it does take some getting used to.

Probably way to far for you ..... but ..... if you want to meet a few from the forum and some from other places who share a passion for Wood Working you may like to check this out.

    https://www.woodworkforums.com/f25/ww...2014-a-170839/

At this time it looks like we will have a variety of competent woodworkers there with skills in flat work, wood turning, carving and perhaps milling.

It will kick-off about lunchtime Friday and run thru till Sunday (if some want to stay Sunday night that is fine too)

Opportunity to spend one on one with some of these and whoever else is there and willing to share there time and expertise.

The invitation for you and whoever comes - bring some tools, bring some wood (these are optional but desired if possible) you can sell, swap, work with it or just watch others.

Mandatory if you come - a smile, willing spirit, desire to have fun learn and enjoy yourself.

Hope to see you there, if cant make it we'll see you round the forum and who knows maybe at some other event though I dont knw if and when I may end up in the states again.

    Take Care
