    Default Merbau Finish

I'm about to have a new fence built. We like the look of merbau but our neighbour tells us that if its stained, it would have to be redone every 6 months. This seems excessive, but they are a good looking fence ( horizontal planks). Neighbour suggested treated pine which would only need to be painted every two years or whatever. Will a good stain last 2 years? What other finish could we use on merbau? The fence is on a busy road and faces North and its not in the shade.

    cheers

Best shot would be a product called Spa-N-Deck. 4 year guarantee on vertical surfaces, and it does sound like really good stuff.

Search areound the forum and you will find plenty of praise for this product.
